This spring on the Baardskeerdersbos Art Route you will see two groups of landscape paintings, both painted in autumn but the locations worlds apart.
The first lot were painted in the Agulhas region last autumn, while the second lot were painted across the Atlantic in New York last month where autumn is really only getting started. I tipped my hat at the Hudson River School of painters who are America's founding painters that worked there two hundred years ago. It was an adventure of discovering classic sites and classic people. I even met Rip van Winkel's descendant, or so they said anyway.
Enjoy a weekend in the country with all the other Baardskeerdersbos artists this Saturday and Sunday 12 and 13 October.
